"Good Wifi. The property was large, with three upstairs bedrooms, two bathrooms, downstairs kitchen and sitting areas as shown on Booking.Com. There was a parking space allocated for guests on the road."

When we arrived there was no heating. This was turned on virtually after we contacted the host, but then stopped working. This did not warm the property which is a big space and all tiled floors. There was also no hot water. The gateman was sent to fix the water but we had to call the host to get him back 3 times, as it was still not working. The gateman then said he was going to sleep and walked out on us leaving us with no hot water. We were told to wait 30 min and there would be hot water but we had no hot water in the evening or early morning. By 10.30 there was luke warm water. We used kettles of warm water to shower. We slept in our thermals, clothes plus gloves/scarves . The place is very poorly maintained with many fixtures broken, the property was also dirty especially the kitchen. There were only 4 mugs, one chipped and one with a hole in the side. Plates were covered in food and not washed. The cutlery was very dirty. No lights worked over the dining room table. Only one hand wash in the downstairs toilet, and one shampoo between the two bathrooms upstairs, the listing stated toiletries provided. Towels were dirty and stained, plus holes on bedding, chairs, and pillow cases. This is the worst place we have ever stayed at and IS NOT SUITABLE FOR A WINTER STAY. No fire lighter was left. The owner is virtual and sends a gateman so I am not sure the owner is aware of the state of the property. We reached out upon returning to the UK via Booking.com to put in a complaint and Booking.com confirmed the host wold not provide any compensation instead Booking.com apologised on behalf of the property.

How close the cabins are to each other… Had a big family next to us that was loud out on their deck.

"Excellent location, just a short walk from Lonnoc Beach and a 15 minute walk from the famous Champagne Beach; 20 minute ride to Port Olry. There is a small village (Hog Harbour Village) nearby, about a 20 minute walk, where you can buy local bread and fruit. Accommodation is very basic but serves its purpose. Mosquito coils and nets are provided. The local who looked after us, Melody, was very welcoming and kind, and made us delicious breakfasts and dinners. There were no kayaks available but they can be rented from the neighbouring Lonnoc Beach Bungalows."

Drainage in the shower is poor and the floor quickly becomes wet and muddy. Facilities are very worn out. The room has no shelving to put your belongings; this would be a great improvement. If you are on a budget, keep in mind that pretty much the only food options in the area are the restaurants at the lodge or at neighbouring accommodations, where a meal costs 1500-2000 vatu per person. The food is delicious though and there are local dishes - the paw paw curry was phenomenal.

"This is a place where everything works -- gas, electric, water. Enough pots and pans for everyone. We enjoyed the stay. The place was clean, sheets were clean, towels and soap present, and there was working cleaning tools to keep the place clean. The host had thought of everything. The WiFi was superb. And the park outside is well-maintained and enjoyable."

A work desk was missed. Indoor parking not available, but the are is quite safe and secure.

A szárító tiszta rozsda volt, nem tudtam, vagyis nem akartam arra kiteregetni. Egyetlen éles kést sem találtunk, amivel a pékárut elvághattuk volna. A konyhai/nappali rész tele volt szúnyogokkal kora este, amikor megérkeztünk, így, aludni ott nem tudtunk (de az alvás a régi hűtő folyamatosan búgó hangjától is lehetetlen lett volna.) Úgy gondolom, hogy az apartman árához képest ezek olyan apró dolgok, amikre lehetne figyelni.

"Locatie frumoasa pe plaja, cu sezlonguri private la umbra, curat in imprejurimi. Usor de ajuns cu tuk-tuk la supermarket. Personal amabil, atent .Am uitat usa deschisa larg ,iar o maimuta a intrat in casa ,dar angajatii au venit la sezlonguri si ne-au anuntat . Mi-a placut ca venea cineva cu fructe si legume de vanzare.Nu intra oricine pe proprietate doar cine are permisiune,sunt doar cativa vanzatori si nu sunt insistenti.M-am simtit in permanenta in siguranta , nici nu incuiam usa cand plecam la plaja. Sunt camere de supraveghere peste tot. Cabanuta nu este lux ,este modesta dar placuta, iar furnici sunt peste tot dar esti in natura si este de astepat sa fie tot felul de insecte."

Foarte, foarte cald in cabanuta cu vedere la gradina, ventilatoarele nu faceau fata. As rezerva din nou dar o cabanuta cu vedere la mare.

"Un lugar encantador bien ubicado en Alto Jaramillo, tiene una vista espectacular a toda la ciudad de Boquete y Volcán Barú fue impresionante para mis niñas ver salir el arco iris justo del jardín de las cabañas. Las instalaciones del lugar muy buenas y limpio; el restaurante muy rico y el personal muy amable y complaciente te hacen sentir como en casa! Para llegar al lugar la carretera en buen estado y cerca del pueblo de Boquete!"

"This was such a beautiful stay! Everything is very clean and spacious, we loved the big shower in the bathroom and the overall design of this place :) Breakfast was also so nice and abundant! There's also a common area with kitchen if you need to + board games, very cosy especially if you're not so lucky with the weather like us. The pool seemed really nice but unfortunately we couldn't use it because it was too windy and cloudy when we were there."

"I absolutely loved the place! I came together with my friend with intention to relax and chill. The place was super cozy, relaxing and in a lovely calm area. When we came in november, there were still some wedding decoration left on the staircase (from the owners sons wedding the month before), and as a future bride myself I felt enchanted! I definitely recommend this place either for a lovely ladies night, or a romantic getaway, or a fun holiday with a bunch or friends. Greetings from Joanna and Monika"

Only two towels, which appeared quite stained. Could do with some wine glasses. Maybe a deeper clean of walls and floors, but still felt clean, just not spotless.

"The beds are extremely comfortable, the check in super easy, the cottage is super cozy, warm and has everything you need for cooking. The location is great, in a secluded spot, absolutely peaceful. We love the dogs, it was a bonus be able to pet and play with them."

Due to my carelessness, I thought the Smyrr cottage had a shower (the photos only show a sink and toilet, but I assumed the shower just wasn't in the photo), so if you're staying longer, you might want to take that into consideration.

"Very nice accommodation. Comfortable, clean with all needed amenities and more! The swimming pool is a pleasure and the view on the palm trees, a real treat. The place is very secure, and perfectly located being very close to the city center on one side and restaurants and bars on the other side (few minutes walk).."

I was not impressed with the fact that I was asked to pay additional fees charged by the host on checking my booking these fees were not added to my original booking at the time of booking the property. The host explained that these are the fees chargred by booking.com to her which I suspect is passed on.
