Just 5 km from the fortified town of Elvas, the recently refurbished Varchotel features typical Alentejo architecture. It offers bright rooms with contemporan décor and satellite flat-screen TVs. All rooms feature stylish decoration and table-lamps. The private bathroom features contrasting black and white colours. A work desk and satellite flat-screen TV are included. The hostel’s Dom Januário Univers Culinar has a separate area where the daily breakfast buffet is served. In another area, it offers delicacies from the Alentejo region, such as grilled chicken and pork and lamb dishes. "The location -walking distance to the beach was great. Peaceful atmosphere, very chill. Very well equipped with everything you need. Magnificent views from the room. Friendly staff, although it was off-season so everything was a little slow."
