"Rooms were nice, bed comfortable. My room was located on 2nd floor, although i did not have any problems with stairs, one should know that there is no lift for people."

"Believe or not - everything was fine. Nice, comfortable and clean rooms. - and ALWAYS warm water 🤯 My room was on the 4th floor so there was a terrace and I had a good view over the roofs of Kathmandu 😂. I felt at home from the first moment because of the nice owner and the nice staff helping me to find solutions whenever I needed: Taxi, organizing my trips, recommendations for affordable restaurants and so on. The breakfast was perfect, so I started always in good mood! - Thank You so much 🙏🙏"

"The staff were so helpful and friendly, Gigi speaks fluent English which is pretty rare in Mongolia so that made it easy. They also were super helpful when my partner left his phone in a taxi from the airport- they got it back! The rooms were big, warm and clean, the shower was hot and the view was nice."

We arrived at midnight and the entrance is a dark scary looking carpark, the door is steel and we couldn’t work out how to get in. The hostel is on the 4th floor so good idea to get a SIM card (free from airport) and call when you arrive if you get stuck. A helpful man in the carpark helped us get in which was so lucky. We would stay again, next time we’ll know how to get in!

"A very warm and helpful host who gave us great support. My mother unfortunately injured herself while hiking and he didn't hesitate for long and applied hot compresses with salt. As she could no longer walk, he even gave her a walking frame and drove us personally to the train station on our departure. The location was great. A bit away from the busy main street and yet everything is within walking distance."

"Quiet place, a little out of the way but easily accesible through public transporte or uber. Beautiful view of the city and close to Montserrate. Owners are very kind and it is a family run buisness. Definitely would recommend."

"We enjoyed staying at this quirky guest house. We were warmly met by the friendly owner and had plenty of space to hang out for the day we were there, waiting to catch a shuttle to Belize City. I say quirky because in our mini apartment, there was a bed in the kitchen ( as well as our bed in the bedroom), and there is an old US school bus in the garden. But it felt quirky rather than derelict. It's a 5min taxi ride to the bus terminal in town or a 20-minute walk. We chose the Taxi option. It's also close to a good bakery, and you can see the supermarket from the hammocks in the garden. There is a fabulous restaurant called Hambre which is a 20 min walk."

There was nothing we didn't like, but this place will not appeal to everyone. It feels local, and maybe a little dated, but it was spacious, safe, and clean, and everything we needed.

"Since I read the book who the owner Dorota wrote, I really wanted to visit Vanilla House. And it was as I imagined, even better!!! The sound of the ocean at night...The breeze.. The food... The view... I loved it!!!!"

"Am petrecut două nopți la Casa Huber și a fost o experiență minunată. Ce mi-a plăcut: Casa este o gospodărie săsească renovată cu mult bun gust, păstrând farmecul autentic dar oferind tot confortul modern. Atmosfera este liniștită, cu o grădină frumoasă unde te poți relaxa. Gazdele sunt extrem de amabile și primitoare. Am avut parte de mic dejun cu produse locale și cină la cerere (fel principal + desert), foarte gustoase și la preț convenabil. Pentru cine dorește, există și o bucătărie complet utilată. Camerele sunt curate, spațioase și bine dotate. Locația este excelentă, aproape de centrul satului și de obiectivele turistice. Parcarea gratuită este un mare plus. Concluzie: Totul a fost impecabil, nu avem nimic de reproșat. Am reveni cu drag și recomandăm cu încredere!"

The toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. It feels a bit out of town but only a short drive away.

"Located in a quiet, idyllic location near the town center, it felt like a little retreat every time we returned home. It’s a spacious house which keeps cool due to the tiling and multiple doors you can open. We didn’t need air con in September. We could close the gates so the dogs couldn’t get in, this allowed the kids to play outside. The three year old was so excited to have swings. After time in the outer islands we really needed to freshen up, so the showers and washing machine were helpful. There was good amounts of drying space, the kitchen was fully functional, and we were given our space to enjoy our holiday."

Tonga is super basic so expectations of any accomodation need to keep this in mind.

"Everything: location, interior design, hospitality, cleanliness, the fact that there is a private gated parking for the guests! I felt like visiting someone’s house, not a hotel, it was so cozy and calm. I will definitely stay there again in the future!"

"This is a family recreational resort with some dorms. Mine was inside the main building near the inside pool and table tennis area. The showers and two toilets are those used by the pool guests. I was fortunate to have only one female dorm mate. There are lockers outside in the hallway and you are given a room key. The manager kindly lent me sheets. I liked the location in the woods not far from the pedestrian street."

The kitchen could use some new utensils. There were no cups or glasses, just some plastic cups.

"Totul! Verdeața din jur, grădina în care puteai sta. Nu erau țânțari. Camera curată și ales " dichisita". Mâncarea... super gustoasă. Preparate poloneze. Din abundenta. Atmosfera calda și prietenoasa. The best! La max 10 min este stația de autobuz de la care cam în 10 minute ești în centru. Tot la max 10 min sunt câteva magazinașe și restaurante."

"Awesome hosts Vladimir and Alexander....they picked us from the airport...I forgot my universal adapter, they provided their own...home-cooked breakfast by the hosts....awesome...will stay there again, if I am at Almaty again..."

"Amazing location right on the beach, quiet surroundings yet not too far away from shops, restaurants and the city center. The house was spacious and clean with A.C., a fan and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge. Mr. Dagobert was very kind and welcoming, he also picked us up from the station. Thank you, it was a really nice stay!"

Keep in mind the accomodation is very basic and I think some renovations could be done, for instance our room didn’t have mosquito nets.

"Hostal is in a very quiet location. There is a lot of space around to park the car. Room had a perfect hard mattresses, was very clean and air condition worked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful."
