"What amazing hotel. This was my second time in Atitlan and last time I made the mistake of staying in a larger village. This time I chose a smaller village and Aviva hotel, and it was the perfect choice. The room was incredible, comfy bed, stunning views, tasty coffee and a terrace to relax. And the breakfast was sooo good. Run, don't walk to stay here if you visit lake atitlan."

"It's super easy to get to on the boat, and just a 10min walk, but on arrival the TukTuks were quoting much higher prices than the hotel has suggested. I don't mind paying more as a tourist, but they were taking the pi$$. As a consequence, I walked everywhere after the initial ride (including with my luggage when leaving). Not the hotels fault at all, but a shame that was my first Impression of the village."

"Gorgeous property. The view from my room was spectacular. The room design was modern but comfy and cosy. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Everything was clean and you could tell it was a newer build. There is no AC but it wasn’t at all needed with the ceiling fan and the property being so high up. It wasn’t very cool at night. The breakfast was delicious (please get the chilaquiles). They cleaned the room daily which was lovely to return to at the end of the day. The staff is very responsive by what’s app and they provide you with recommendations and contacts to make getting around easier."

"There are lots of stairs to get to the rooms especially with mine being at the very top (worth the views). So keep that in mind with your luggage and daily comings and going’s. Tzununa is one of the lesser touristy and populated villages. There are not many restaurants. I tried the 2 nearby ones and they weren’t great. You would have to go to San Pedro or San Marcos for more options. You have to plan your comings and goings around the water ferry schedule - first boat out at 6am, last boat in at 7pm. Staying in Tzununa is inconvenient because all the activities occur in San Pedro, San Marcos or Panajachel. I had to do a sunrise hike on San Pedro which required a very early start. I had to pay a private boat almost $60US to take me to San Pedro plus the tuk tuk driver quadrupled his price to pick me up that early to take me to the docks."
