Nemasu Eco-lodge

"The entire facility is wonderful and very unique. It is surrounded by palm trees and nature and almost feels like a jungle, with many handmade details that make the place very beautiful. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, and you can walk directly from the restaurant onto the sand. There are no other hotels nearby, so the beach feels very private and peaceful, with cows and other animals occasionally passing by, which adds to the rural charm. The beach is very clean and well maintained, and the security staff does a great job taking care of it. There are comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas, and the staff are incredibly friendly. There are also many activities available such as renting bikes, getting a massage, doing yoga, taking trips to the fishing village, or even going on a safari. The food in the restaurant was excellent - honestly some of the best meals I had in The Gambia."

"Because the lodge is located in a very rural area, there are no restaurants, shops, or places to go outside the property, so every meal has to be at the lodge’s restaurant. The eco-concept is nice, but not having power plugs in the rooms made it a bit inconvenient to charge phones or use things like a hairdryer. The rooms also don’t have a fridge, and it would be helpful if at least a shared fridge was available for guests, especially since temperatures can reach around 40°C during the day. Aside from the activities organized by the lodge, there isn’t much to do nearby in terms of a town or village, so you need to arrange taxis or transfers if you want to explore further. Another small issue was that the prices mentioned for some activities were different when it came time to pay, so it might be helpful if the staff ensures that everyone communicates the same pricing. Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience - truly a small paradise and a great place for a relaxing vacation with a touch of local culture."

We suggest that they post a daily seasonal menu (maybe on a board visible to all guests) The eco huts were very attractive but very dark which made it hard to read a book or see what you were doing"

"Wonderful place located in a quiet location on the beach. Cosy and traditionally decorated rooms, with all basic amenities. Very clean and lovely with duvets during the cold nights of the winter season. On site restaurant with a limited but good selection of food, made to order so fresh but a bit of a waiting time. Staff from the local community that are friendly and trying their best in catering for everybody."
