"Great location for touring Somme area. Owners were so welcoming. Roses in the sitting room were a lovely personal touch. Cottage was very spacious. We justed loved it."

"If you are interested in WW1 history or are doing associated family research etc Authuille is an excellent place to stay. It is central to all main battlefield locations on the Somme. The countryside in the local area is superb, quiet roads and field paths for walking and traffic free roads for motoring."

"De locatie was dicht bij Thiepval waar het grote memorial gedenkmonument staat en waar ook een heel erg mooi museum is over de slag bij de Somme. Erg de moeite waard. Zelfs veel bijschriften in het Nederlands. Indrukwekkend bezoek. De locatie is echt een huisje met een Franse inrichting. Wij vonden dat prima en hebben niet gekookt op de locatie. Er zijn 2 hele fijne restaurants ( betaalbaar) op loopafstand in het dorp. Wij hadden elektrische fietsen mee en hebben een hele mooie fietsroute gedaan aan de rivier de Somme. Deze route start in Corbie ( 20 min rijden van Authuille). Even vragen waar de route loopt is wenselijk maar eenmaal gevonden kun je niet meer fout. De route loopt van Amiens naar Peronne. Wij hebben een dag de ene kant en de volgende dag de andere kant op gefietst. Zeer, zeer mooi."

"Excellente situation avec deux excellents restaurants juste à proximité "la taverne du cochon salé" (aubergiste très sympathique) et "l'auberge de la vallée d'Ancre" il est préférable de réserver à l'avance. Belle maison très propre parfaitement très bien équipée donnant sur une rue calme. L'hôtesse est très agréable et accueillante (merci pour les cadeaux) et arrangeante."

"Idyllic spot nestled on a plateau surrounded by hills right next to lavender fields. Renovated to a very high standard the rooms are generously sized, well appointed and have large comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of fresh produce. The owner is very helpful and attentive. For cyclists there is a lockable garage for bikes."
"It was a really nice comfortable apartment, perfect for my needs as a solo traveler, a reserved parking spot was available for my motorcycle, a couple of grocery shops within a 1/2 walk and the marina area has an abundance of bars and restaurants, really enjoyed my stay"

"The Tranquillity! Who walk or ride on the pilgrim St.Jaques or way to Santiago del Compostela. Madame Annie can pick you up, and you get a really charmful loving hospitality! You can enjoy huge amount of housemade food's, pie's, good café and beautiful panorama from the enormous terasse to the valley of Lot!"
